Process...

Assignment To A GO Caribbean Project!

  1. A Southern Baptist church, association, or individual can contact Thomas Broadhead, the GO Caribbean Coordinator, to begin the process and discussion about being on a GO Caribbean team.
  2. Teams can be made up of members from the same church or a group of people from all over the US.
  3. Upon contact, you will receive information on GO Caribbean as needed and the GO Caribbean schedule for teams.
  4. Upon deciding on dates, your contact person and Team Leader, you will be assigned a project.
  5. You will receive an IMB Project Number to use in all correspondence.
  6. The Team Leader will receive the Manual for GO Volunteers and Study Guide for GO Volunteers.
  7. Encourage the team members to enlist prayer partners for the GO Caribbean Gospel Saturation project.
  8. A total of 6-7 persons make up a team. A rented van will only hold a driver and 6 passengers.
  9. The website, www.GO-Caribbean.org will provide basic information.
  10. You will receive the name of the pastor or church leader you will be working with.
  11. All US citizens traveling abroad must have a valid passport and be kept on your person at all times while in Barbados.
  12. A Tourist Card will be needed. You will receive info on the flight to Barbados that you will fill out and present to immigration officials upon entering the country. Immigration officials will stamp this card and it must be retained for your return flight. To replace it takes time and money!
  13. Required insurance can be purchased from Adams and Associates through IMB for $2.75 per person per day. Each team member should carry a copy of his insurance card, and the Team Leader should have a list of all insurance policy numbers.
  14. You will receive basic information regarding telephoning from Barbados to the US.
  15. You will receive a simple schedule for the week including appropriate emergency phone numbers.
  16. Upon arrival on the field, a group orientation will be held in the evening.
